Chip Foose’s latest design: Oakley Three Palms shoes!

Do you watch Overhaulin’ on TV? My favourite part of the show is when Chip Foose comes up with the main concept of the episode’s car. While all of us can have a great picture in our minds, transferring that image onto paper is a different thing altogether. Foose’s renderings are nothing short of amazing, and the speed and ease he takes is equally impressive.
While there’s little chance for us to get Overhauled by the man himself, his latest creation is more accessible. Foose has teamed with Oakley to pen a shoe called Oakley Three Palms. The O brand released their latest footwear at the NHRA’s U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, where Foose is the grand marshal.

Oakley says that Three Palms is “a design that crystallizes the So Cal attitude of car culture, action sports and the greed for speed”. The exterior combines full-grain leather and polyurethane coated leather while the “suspension” is made up of performance Ortholite dual-density insole with leather lining, Comfortzorb cushioning beneath insole and polyurethane heel component with Red Code technology.
The $100 shoe has double stripes on the sole that pays homage to the open highway. And like Foose’s custom cars, Three Palms has a horizontal two-tone scheme that gives the effect of hovering. Contrast stitch lines and the Three Palms logo on the footbed make it stand out further. We’re tempted!

1967 ShelbyGT500 Super Snake

X-Runner of the Day

Corvette of the Day

Fastest Cars in the World

 1. Bugatti Veyron: 267 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $1,700,000. The Super Sport version is $2,400,000. The speed was tested again on July 10, 2010 with the new 2010 Super Sport Version: the Bugatti Veyron once again claims the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph.
 2. Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you're into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires, not that I would take one on a ski trip or anything like that. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti's arch enemy for the next 5 years.
 3. SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, The SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010. On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot.
 4. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass. It will make you want to show it off non-stop.
 5. Koenigsegg CCX: 245 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. 90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is the older brother of the Agera R, only losing to 4 other supercars in the world.
 6. McLaren F1: 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black
 7. Gumpert Apollo: 224 mph, 0-60 in 3.0 secs, 4.2 liter V8 Engine that houses 650 hp. Base price: $450,000. Gumpert claims that the Apollo was designed such that it could drive upside-down in a tunnel with speeds at 190 mph or above. Of course, no one has tested this yet.
 8. Noble M600: 223 mph, 0-60 in 3.7 secs. Twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 Engine with 650 hp. Base price is $330,000. The Noble M600 also happens to be a very cool car. Its inconspicuous design sports a slender and contoured body which does not scream out for attention at every second of the day.

We have a tie for 9th and 10th places:

9. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. Twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine that produces 678 hp. Base price is $1,850,000. The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster is a limited-edition, with five ever produced. It is the quintessential exotic and exclusive supercar.
 9. Ferrari Enzo: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. F140 Aluminum V12 Engine with 660 hp, base price is $670,000. Only 399 were ever produced; the price goes up every time someone crashes.
 9. Jaguar XJ220: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.8 secs. Twin Turbo V6 Engine with 542 hp, base price was $650,000. Made in 1992, this car still has what it takes to make the lis
 10. Ascari A10: 215 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. 5.0 litre BMW V8 S62 Engine with 625 hp. Base price: $650,000. The company planned to produce 50 of these supercars at its factory in Banbury, England.
10. Pagani Zonda F: 215 mph, 0-60 in 3.5 secs. Mercedes Benz M180 V12 Engine with 650 hp, base price is $667,321. With a V12 motor, this baby can do much better.

2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8

2012 Dodge CHARGER SRT8 Review, Specs, & Pictures

The first thing you will notice on the new Charger SRT8 is its front end. Its bumper is blacked-out over the grille, which, along with the blacked-out grille surround and Dodge crosshair, makes it look like the car is either sucking in air, about to take a big bite out of something, or sitting with its mouth agape. Despite how silly that sounds, visually the new Charger SRT8—especially when compared to the base model—looks menacing. It is comparable to front end of the Mitsubishi Evo or the entire Audi sedan lineup, yet much more intimidating.

Other exterior changes include a new rear spoiler, sculpted hood, “6.4 L” badges, unique side sills, and aggressive front and rear aprons. Out back, the Charger features what it is calling its “racetrack” tail lamp design. It is comprised of 164 LEDs that stretch from one side of the tail to the other and bring both individual tail lamps into one element.

Of course, the new aggressive look is designed to complement the new more-powerful 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, which replaces the outgoing 6.1-liter V-8 unit. Dodge says its estimated power rating for the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 stands at 465 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, a decrease of five from both power metrics compared to the Challenger 392. Despite jumping 0.3 liters and producing an additional 40 hp, Dodge says the new Charger SRT8 also offers improved fuel economy.

Dodge will also offer standard paddle shifter for the first time on its five-speed automatic transmission. It provides more user control; however, the automatic still will not allow the engine to nudge the redline.

Also new for 2012 is an adaptive damping suspension that uses a wide range of data on both road conditions and driver input (such as vehicle speed, steering angle, steering speed, brake torque, throttle position, and lateral acceleration) to automatically tune the suspension for a desired effect. Drivers can manually choose between “Auto” and “Sport” settings for the suspension.

We can vouch for the world-class stopping power in the 2010 Charger SRT8 and Dodge promises the same capabilities in the 2012 model. Four-piston Brembo calipers and rotors measuring 14.2 inches up front and 13.8 inches in the rear supply the excellent braking power.

Altogether, Dodge claims some impressive performance statistics: 88g on skidpad, estimated top speed of175 mph, 0–60 mph in the high four-second range, and a quarter-mile time in the high 12-second range.

Dodge promises a sporty interior to match the exterior. It features a unique flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum trim pieces, aggressively bolstered driver and passenger seats, and a 900-watt, 19-speaker premium audio system from Harmon Kardon. Users can also interact with the largest standard touchscreen display in the segment. Sitting at an impressive 8.4 inches, the touchscreen system now also provides data on steering input measurements, horsepower, torque, 0–60 times, 60–0 braking, g-forces, and one-eighth and quarter-mile times.

IRON MAN SUIT

These are the raw materials that I used to build this suit. I started with plastic FOR SALE signs that i purchased from Wal-Mart.
Here I used red metallic spray paint. It took about 10 to 15 layers in order to get that deep dark luster of red that you will see in the final stages of the suit.
This little section here is one of the most important parts of the suit. It is the crotch armor that comes off and opens up for my ability to use the restroom at any time!
This is a full shot of the groin armor. All of the armor plating is held on by velcro so it can be adjusted, removed or replaced if necessary
The gold pieces here are for the spine guard and under accents for the stomach armor.
This is what i wore beneath the suit to fill it out a bit and give it some real structure
This is the body armor that was worn beneath the suit as well for added structure. It was needed to help support the chest plate.
This is the 1st and 2nd coat of spray paint used for armor plating.

This is what was used for the base of the spine guard.
Here is a shot of just the base layer body armor.
Stage 1 of the spine guard.
Stage 2 of the spine guard
Stage three of the spine guard. Originally this is where i was going to stop. I took a few hours to contemplate what i could do to get rid of the white and this is what I came up with....
I made gold links to line the actual spine plating.
 Nearly in its final stages!
One last shot before the final stage!
Folks, here you have it! The final stage of the spine guard.
The two lower pieces that look like wings actually wrap around the stomach to create the rest of the frontal armor plating.
This is the cloth layer Iron Man suit that will cover all of the body armor.
In this photo you are seeing the actual armor plating for the chest, shoulders, legs, and helmet.
Stage 1: Suiting up; under armor.
 Stage 2: body armor
Stage 3: One piece Iron Man suit.
Stage 4: Piecing on the armor plating; it took two people to do this.
Stage 5: Nearly finished: I just had to put the stomach pieces on to seal the deal!
